Joseph Bicknell’s passion for color is obvious to anyone familiar with his work on features, commercials and episodic. He colored the multiple-award-winning feature All of Us Strangers directed by Andrew Haigh and shot by Jamie D. Ramsay SASC; the Oscar-nominated Living, directed by Oliver Hermanus and shot by Ramsey; Cannes Film Festival Un Certain Regard Winner How to Have Sex from director Molly Manning Walker and cinematographer Nicolas Canniccioni; and Sundance Jury Prize Winner Nanny Directed by Nikyatu Jusu and shot by Rina Yang BSC.
Additionally, he has a highly impressive portfolio of short-form color grading, for acclaimed brands such as Nike, Volkswagen and fashion houses Dior and Mugler. In 2021, Bicknell received the internationally esteemed Gold Award for Color Grading at the Ciclope festival for his work on the spot “A Mediterranean Dream,” for the Spanish clothing label Mango. He has also collaborated on prestigious music videos for talents including The Weekend, Harry Styles, Cardi B. and Megan Thee Stallion.
Bicknell relocated from London to New York in early 2019 to join Company 3, following a very successful run as co-director/founder of finishing house, Cheat, where his innovative and tasteful work on major commercial campaigns and music videos helped him forge an international reputation.
