2023 Oscars x Company 3
March 13, 2023 Mar. 13, 2023On Sunday night, Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre came alive with the glitz and glamour of the 95th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for the third time. The event began with a roar as two US Navy fighter jets flew over the venue, paying tribute to the nominated film Top Gun: Maverick. One of the night’s most exciting moments came when Brendan Fraser was awarded his first Academy Award for his portrayal of a 600-pound man in The Whale who tries to come to terms with his life. The audience erupted with applause as Fraser made his way to the stage to accept his well-deserved award.
But the real highlight came when Ruth Carter, the costume designer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, received her second Oscar and made history as the first Black woman to achieve this feat. Carter’s standing ovation was a testament to her talent and contribution to the industry. The night also featured a powerful performance by Rihanna, who sang ‘Lift Me Up‘ from the soundtrack album of the same film.
Overall, the 95th Academy Awards was an unforgettable night celebrating some of Hollywood’s best talents. From emotional acceptance speeches to stunning performances, the event was a true showcase of the power of cinema to inspire and entertain.
