Past Lives Triumphs at 2023 Gotham Awards
November 28, 2023 Nov. 28, 2023Last night, the 33rd Gotham Awards in New York awarded Best Feature to Past Lives, the debut film directed by Celine Song and color-graded by Senior Colorist and Chief Creative Officer Tom Poole.
The event also introduced a new set of awards called Icon & Creator Tributes, which recognized the cinematic contributions of various individuals. Bradley Cooper was awarded The Cultural Icon & Creator Tribute for Maestro, and George C. Wolfe was awarded The Icon & Creator Tribute for Social Justice for Rustin. Both films were color-graded by Senior Colorist, Founder, and CEO Stefan Sonnenfeld, with additional color by Senior Colorist Andrew Geary. In addition, Director Michael Mann received The Icon & Creator Tribute for Innovation for Ferrari, graded by Stefan Sonnenfeld with additional color by Colorist Adam Nazarenko, and Director Greta Gerwig received The Global Icon & Creator Tribute for Barbie, graded by Senior Colorist Yvan Lucas with additional color by Senior Colorist Nick Metcalf and Alan Gordon.

The Gotham Awards nominations were announced live at Cipriani Wall Street, where the awards ceremony will occur on Monday, November 27th. The 33rd annual event will honor Rustin, produced by President Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground, which will receive the Gotham Cultural Icon & Creator Tribute for Social Justice, and Maestro star, director, and co-writer Bradley Cooper will receive the Cultural Icon & Creator Tribute celebrating the films and the iconic individuals they portray.
