Matthew Shuttleworth has been a Finishing Editor at Company 3 since June 2022, following a seven-year tenure at Side Street Post, where he advanced from the position of Online Editor to overseeing operations. Recent notable projects in his current role include Universal Pictures’ Violent Night, Sony Pictures’ Knights of the Zodiac (released theatrically through Stage 6 Films), and Champions from Focus Features.

Originally from the UK, Shuttleworth freelanced as an editor before moving to Vancouver. His early fascination with film transitioned from a desire to act to a passion for editing. His professional journey began at Side Street Post, where he got his first hands-on experience in post. Self-taught in color correction, VFX, and motion graphics, he handles last-minute client requests for fixes and effects using tools such as Blackmagic Design’s Fusion and Adobe After Effects. He describes the role of the Finishing Editor as the last step in ensuring a project is flawlessly executed.

Outside of work, Shuttleworth enjoys experimenting with new editing techniques and hiking when the weather permits.
