Based at Company 3 Toronto. Available virtually through any Company 3 Virtual Outpost.
Eric Myles has more than 25 years of experience in postproduction and has been at Company 3 Toronto (previously Deluxe), practicing the varied arts of the Finishing Editor since 2008. His recent work includes Netflix’s Vikings: Valhalla, MGM’s science fiction horror From, and Ethan Hawke’s biopic Wildcat about American novelist Flannery O’Connor. Myles has also been credited for his VFX work on several films, including Guillermo del Toro’s Academy Award-winning feature.
A native of the Toronto area, Myles was always an avid fan of movies. He studied Applied Arts & Technology at Toronto’s Seneca Polytechnic, where he acquired fluency in various technical skills, including programming. Myles began his career in post at some smaller Toronto-based companies, working in the scanning and recording department, eventually doing this at Technicolor’s facility in the city. There, he developed his expertise in tools such as Autodesk Flame for 2D VFX, which he used in his early work as a Finishing Editor (tasks he now completes primarily in DaVinci Resolve and Fusion). Myles sees the role of the Finishing Editor as a critical component in the post process, taking in the work of picture editors and using his eye, his experience, and VFX tools to create a finished timeline to hand off for color grading.
