Senior Finishing Editor Matt Purse joined Company 3 in 2021 following an extensive tenure in that role at several former Company 3 sister companies going back to 2013, and before that, at Technicolor. A list of recent projects to which he has brought his editorial prowess would have to include Sweet Tooth from Netflix, Orange is the New Black (Netflix) and The Dropout (Hulu) and Welcome to Chippendales (Hulu). He has been a Finishing Editor on features, commercials, music videos, single- and multi-cam episodic TV. He is fluent in Resolve and Fusion and has a very solid background in many other editing and VFX platforms including Mocha, After Effects and Avid — each of which taught him workflows and approaches he uses, regardless of which tools he’s bringing to any particular job.

Originally from Detroit, Purse grew up primarily in Los Angeles and was always fascinated by filmmaking. He initially intended to pursue directing, but quickly realized his temperament and talents were more geared to editorial work. Purse enjoys collaborating with clients and sharing his knowledge about the myriad ways finishing editors can contribute to the post process. He finds projects that are semi- or fully-autobiographical, such as The Dropout or Welcome to Chippendales, particularly exciting endeavors to be a part of.
