Claire McGrane To Head Company 3, London
February 26, 2014 Feb. 26, 2014Post house Company 3, a Deluxe Creative Services company, has hired Claire McGrane to lead its London facility. In doing so, she also joins the senior global management team for the Company 3 group.
Involved in the digital intermediate process since its infancy in 2000, McGrane was the DI producer on the lauded Cold Mountain, one of the first shows in London to go through the DI process. Her success in DI was recognized in 2003 when she moved to Framestore, where she was tasked with developing their DI offerings and expanding the team. The subsequent three years saw the business grow into an internationally recognized DI house, working on most of the leading features in the market at that time.
Stefan Sonnenfeld, president of Company 3, said of McGane, “It is rare to find the combination of technical and operational knowledge together with the empathy required to support the creative vision of the filmmaker. Claire brings a fresh approach to Company 3, which will see the London facility be more in tune with clients’ needs. Having someone so deeply embedded within the film and TV community in London is exciting for us. “
Sonnenfeld added, “Claire joins Joce Capper, Johnny Whitehead and Emma Philips, who run Rushes, Encore and Method respectively and form the senior management team responsible for our creative output in London. I’m confident that Claire’s influence will be felt not just in London but across the entire global Creative group.”
For the past three years McGrane has worked as a freelance postproduction supervisor in the U.K. on features and television, most recently on the soon to be released feature, Miss Julie.
“The range of projects completed here is inspirational and I believe Company 3 is unique in its ability to attract a blend of studio and independent films from across Europe and the U,S.,” said McGrane, adding, “It is exciting to have access to a world-class team of international colorists based both here and in the US,” she adds. “It’s not every day that you can offer London-based colorists the opportunity to work on US features and vice versa. This level of flexibility is what sets Company 3 apart and I’m excited to introduce a fresh and more collaborative approach to what is already the leading DI facility in London. Having worked in facilities for 16 years, and then more recently experiencing their work as a client, I have a clear vision of the process from both sides. I believe this insight will help me deliver an exceptional level of customer services to the clients that use Company 3.”
